Introduction to Stan and Bayesian Modeling for Artificial Intelligence

Guest Breck Baldwin will introduce the Stan open source Bayesian modeling language with a focus on its use as a Bayesian inference engine. Attendees will learn the basics using Stan for prediction and understand how it compares to other approaches to AI like deep learning.

Baldwin earned a PhD in Computer Science from University of Pennsylvania and is the Founder and President of Alias-i, developer of LingPipe software for natural language processing and text analytics. Until recently, Baldwin served as Executive Director of the Stan Governing Body, of which he remains an active contributor.
