Scaling NodeJS

Welcome to the inaugural meet-up for our group. I am excited to meet everyone! Once we are all together, I would like to introduce the group, some background details, and solicit opinions on the direction of the group.

Come network and learn how to scale a NodeJS application. The first ~15 minutes will be networking. After that, the talk will be ~45 minutes followed by questions.

Food and refreshments will be provided.

There are many hosting providers that promise seamless scaling for your NodeJS application. This is true for some applications, but more complex application scenarios require a more robust design for scaling out.

The talk will cover:

1. The scenarios to consider when scaling your application
2. Running nodejs on multiple core hosts
3. Running multiple instances of your nodejs app
4. Failure and recovery
5. Other hosting platforms and technologies available
