COMO Social Biking

We will ride east on the MKT, the well-traveled City’s part of the MKT, to the MLK park, or maybe even to Flat Branch if there’s time. Sunset is at 6:42pm. Meet before 6pm at the new Trail Stop Brewery at 3901 Brushwood Lake Rd. Corner of Scott Blvd and the west end of Vaughter School Rd. We will meet and leave at 6pm with a return to Trail Stop. If it’s a rain-out, we could simply meet at Trail Stop anyway for eats, drinks, and their version of trivia (or not). Ride led by Ron.

Let's Leaf On Over to Rocheport to help the town celebrate its 200th anniversary. This event is part of their Second Saturday events.
We will be pedaling there and not really "leafing" there. For those of you not attending the MU home game, this may be a fun alternative.
Event notices say there will be live music and vendors. Not certain of quantity and quality of music and vendors, so come prepared either way.
We will ride the Katy Trail to Rocheport and go through the tunnel. Then we can turn around and head up the hill into town to see what is happening. We will stay for a bit, maybe have lunch from a vendor, then head home. I don't plan to stay too long.
If you want/need to leave after we arrive in town, let me know you will be departing on your own, so I know who all will be returning to start location with the group.

At long last, we are going to try biking with tent camping!

Many opportunities to vary the main plan, depending on whether you want to camp and bike or just bike. You can choose full distance or less, One day or more.

Our plan is to leave Columbia at 4 PM on Friday, ride to Cooper’s Landing and set up camp. Fix a simple dinner and enjoy Cooper’s for the evening.

Next day, fix breakfast on the open fire, pick up camp, and ride to Rocheport for lunch. After lunch, we will ride to Franklin and set up camp in the Franklin campground. We can again enjoy a simple dinner around the fire.

Sunday, we will pack up camp and head back to Rocheport for breakfast, finishing our adventure by riding back to Columbia.

Options can include meeting at Cooper’s Landing on Saturday and riding with the group for lunch for an out and back. A similar variation could be to start at Rocheport for an out and back to Franklin. Or just meet the group for breakfast In Rocheport on Sunday.

Everyone is responsible for making their own camping reservations and carrying their own equipment.

Laurel and I will be leading this ride along the Dutzow to Augusta portion of the Katy Trail. Between those 2 trailheads is 7.7 miles, so we may ride some more to get a good workout and tour of the trail. Hopefully we will see some beautiful fall colors along our ride.
We will spend the morning driving to Dutzow, or thereabouts, then ride for a bit. For lunch or after our riding time, we will go to the Cedar Lake Winery in Wright City, MO. They have nice outdoor seating and a good menu for food and wine. Afterwards, we will return home.

Please be on time. Bring your own water, snacks, spare tube and repair tools and your lunch money.

We can discuss car pooling once we know who all is going.
