Join us in restoring trails in the Conejo Canyons Open Space (in Thousand Oaks) during the Annual Conejo Open Space Trailwork Day! Trails in Conejo Canyons / Western Plateau were damaged by the Hill Fire last November and the rains this past spring. They need some TLC to get them back into top condition, and we need your help to do that!
This is Thousand Oaks' largest open space event of the year and brings together a number of open space advocacy groups. We'll be joining the COSCA rangers, Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council, hikers from various Meetup groups and others to work on these trails.
We use the Conejo Open Space trails regularly, so this is our chance to give back to the community while expanding our trail opportunities!
At noon, following the morning of trail work, workers will be treated to a thank-you lunch and door-prize drawing while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow trail enthusiasts!
You can help COSCA prepare for the event by also registering online at https://cosf.org/events/register/
Wear protective clothing (long-legged pants, long-sleeved shirts, sunglasses), sturdy shoes, gloves, hat and sunscreen.
No experience necessary. Tools and instructions on how to use them safely and effectively will be provided. Must be 18+ years of age. As always when in the open spaces, be aware of poison oak, ticks & rattlesnakes. Everyone works at their own comfort level.
