Climb for Charity - the Calgary Tower!

Details

500 feet.
802 steps.
20+ minutes.
$25/climb.
For charity.

UPDATE April 14;
Let's plan to meet at/beside the registration desk(s) at 10:00.
We're NOT registering as a single team (maybe next year!), so go in & get yourself set up at the desk.
I suggest going in for 9:30 to be finished registering by 10, and have a little time for stretching/warmup.

I will be wearing a black MEETUP t-shirt (red Meetup logo on the front, my nickname David R, on the back):

...and probably shorts, not jeans... and I'll be wearing a black, fabric knee support (maybe two!).

I will be looking around for you; but if your photo isn't on the Meetup site, it'll be easier for you to find me!

Saturday, April 17, 2010 - 10am
Registration opens 8:30, one can sign up/pay then & there (or register online & skip the lineup!).
Last climb's start time is 1:30pm.

Let's rock 'n roll!!! ...and climb, sweat and cry "why didn't I actually USE the stairclimber at the gym ?!?"

I've climbed the CN Tower's 1,776 steps (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CN_Tower) once before (in my youth!), in about 13:20 - I can't even HOPE to match that time this year, even with fewer than half the steps (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calgary_Tower), but I'm willing to do it, for charity (https://www.climbforwilderness.ca/faq.shtml), and for the UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY (OK, it's available every year...) to see the Tower from within its bowels (OK, that doesn't actually sound so good, but you know what I mean...)

While at the time of this writing, I'm in no shape to try to climb it more than once, your $25 registration fee is good for one climb; a 2nd climb will be another $25, a third climb another $25, and a fourth climb $25 more.
At the $100 mark, you are able to repeat the climb as often as you want... er... as you CAN!

Sponsorship forms & info are available on the website.

As I write this on Feb 24, I have not checked into the details of a 'corporate team' registration, but I hope that DSN, or at least MEETUPs, can co-ordinate a team effort.

There is also a RUN, but at this moment, I'm concentrating on the CLIMB; we can RUN anytime!
