The mission of CNPS is to conserve California native plants and their natural habitats; and increase understanding, appreciation, and horticultural use of native plants.
Join some of the Mount Lassen Chapter activities which include:
Year round field trips, <br>Native plant sales, <br>Demonstration native plant gardens, <br>Monthly meetings featuring knowledgeable and interesting guest speakers, <br>Controlling invasive plants, <br>Conservation of rare native plants and habitats, <br>Educational outreach to school groups and adults at public events.

Along the Yahi Trail to Devil's Kitchen

Meet at 9 am in Upper Bidwell Park C for carpooling or at Parking Lot L (Diversion Dam) by driving the gravel road about 1.7 miles beyond Horseshoe Lake’s Lot E. If it has rained and the gate is closed after Parking Lot D, this trip is canceled. Bring lunch, water, insect/sun/weather protection. Wear sturdy shoes. Hike the scenic Yahi Trail above a majestic canyon with spectacular vistas., and down to the bottom of Devil's Kitchen where we can look up at the impressive columns.

Street Trees of the Chico Avenues
Location not specified yetMeet at 9 am at the corner of Memorial Way and Oleander. We will walk about three miles through The Avenues and learn about several of the native and non-native street trees growing in the area. Discussed will be their identification, origin, growing conditions, unique features and the advantages and disadvantages of a good street tree for Chico. Finish by noon.
