About us
The mission of CNPS is to conserve California native plants and their natural habitats; and increase understanding, appreciation, and horticultural use of native plants.
Did you know we have monthly general meetings at the library? These include informational presentations on all sorts of native plant-related topics, from botanical work done in our region to native plant gardening advice. These are at 7 PM, every 2nd Thursday of the month, at the Chico Branch of the Butte County Library (1108 Sherman Avenue, Chico CA).

About Shane Hanofee and the Nevada County Flora Project
Shane is a self-taught botanist and amateur mycologist with an extensive knowledge of Northern California’s plants and fungi. Shane has undertaken the endeavor of writing a flora of Nevada county and will talk to us about the project and the diverse ecoregion and plant world of Nevada county.
In the spirit of making botany accessible to all, Shane has created a fantastic collection of virtual hikes and educational videos available through the Redbud Chapter Youtube channel, as well as botanical Facebook videos as entertaining as they are educational.
