MORNING Cambridge Social Media Meetup - Social Media ROI: All about Analytics

Social Media ROI: All about Analytics with Simone Castello One of the biggest challenges when it comes to social media marketing is measuring and understanding the results! Way too often we speak with business owners who invest a lot of time, effort and money into posting on social media, creating more content, engaging with people and spending cash on ads, but don't measure their results! That's why we're thrilled to have Simone Castello coming to share her in-depth experience of social media analytics and how to measure your ROI. Simone has over 20 years of communications experience. She switched from journalism to marketing in 2008 and despite her dislike of maths is a keen advocate of analytics to inform digital strategy. She is currently contracting at the University of Cambridge. Measuring return on investment (ROI) can show you what's working and what’s not, and how you can add value to your business. This workshop will cover free tools: Google and channel Analytics. Examples from a live job and previous clients will demonstrate how measuring applies to different products and objectives. Cambridge Social Media Meetup - Business Stories with Daria Piotrowicz

We're really thrilled to have Daria Piotrowicz as our May speaker. Daria works as Social Media Lead at Stansted Airport and she'll be sharing her story and experience of running social media for a very complex and customer service sensitive organisation like Stansted Airport. Bio: Having spent the last decade covering numerous roles at London Stansted, I must admit that the airport has become my second home. I’m a strong believer in the power of gratitude and positive thinking both in a workplace and in my personal life. Intro: I first started using social media networks professionally back at university, where I studied journalism and new media. Following my graduation, working as a content freelancer and at a marketing startup, I landed a job as Social Media Lead at London Stansted. The biggest challenge I have faced in my role was establishing a centralised ownership of all platforms and balancing out the content for all key pillars of an airport’s social channels - Passenger Communications, Commercial and Brand & Reputation -, not forgetting about the social customer service and, of course, the nerve-wracking Crisis Communications. I believe the key to a successful online presence for any business is timely, accurate and personal responses that inject the real human emotions back into the conversations. Wow! Sounds amazing, doesn't it? -------- Feeling lost in the social media maze? Don't know where to start and how to efficiently spend your limited time? You're not alone! No matter if you are a marketing virgin, newbie or a pro, everyone is welcomed to join us! Agenda for the evening: 6:30-7pm - refreshments, mingling, networking 7ish - introductions 7:15pm - Presentation from our guest speaker 8pm - Q&As and informal chat 8:30pm - more mingling and networking 9pm - expected finish Do you have any questions or problems that you'd like this group to help you with? Cambridge Social Media Meetup - Business Stories with Hazel Cottrell

In June, we're thrilled to welcome local superhero, Hazel Cottrell as our guest speaker. Hazel is a superwoman in our eyes! She's a successful business woman, fiancee, step-mum, consistent content creator, networker and volunteer for many local causes. She has also won numerous awards, including Inspirational Awards and Unsung Hero Awards at the DevelopHER Awards 3 years in a row. Hazel set up Creative Content Company in September 2013 and has never looked back. With a background in content writing, social media, SEO and customer service she is the right person to direct this ship and all its clients to the island of success. Fun fact: Hazel has a cat that can play fetch 😂 Info: Creative Content Company [www.creativecontent.company] has been running for 5 and a half years, we offer social media, newsletters and content creation for small, medium and start-up businesses. As a business, we use social media to increase brand awareness, but we also use it for our clients to help them grow their businesses. In this presentation, I will be talking about the social media platforms that I use and why I use them, how I used social media to get Santa to visit a 36-hour hackathon and why I love periscope. This will be a brilliant evening and you'll learn loads about social media, content as well as building communities and getting involved in local causes! -------- Feeling lost in the social media maze?
