Join us to sketch Mitcham's Corner, an area of Cambridge that the local paper sells as the new Mill Road. Whilst that's a stretch, there is plenty here to sketch - a central green surrounded by the Portland Arms - home of local bands, the art deco facade of the Tivoli, the Waterman and Boathouse pubs. Just nearby the Jubilee Gardens path parallels the river up to the weir, and the Boathouse's back garden is a hidden gem of river view tiered seating. In recent years, many independant shops have moved in to line Chesterton Road.
We will meet at 11am outside the recently open Artyst Cafe (honouring cantabrian Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd). Then we'll disperse to sketch whatever inspires (if it's raining we'll have plenty of indoor options). We'll meet back at the same location at 1pm to share our work and take a group photo. After that join us for some post sketching socialising, food, and drink at The Artyst.
The event is free but does not include food, drink, or art materials. Everyone is welcome whether you've just started to draw or have been a professional artist for many years. We look forward to seeing you there.
