Cobus Bernard is a Senior Technical Evangelist for AWS looking after Sub-Saharan Africa. In previous lives, he helped organisations implement DevOps best practices, built Java / C# applications and even worked on a game that is available on Steam.

Abstract 📢

In this talk, we will go over what modern services look like when built for the Cloud. Additionally, why service meshes are popping up everywhere: Consul Connect, Envoy, Likerd are just some examples. We will take a closer look at Envoy and see what kind of challenges it helps solve.
