Doing work faster and better without having to wait for automation
Abstract: “What can we do now?” was the response I heard from the Technical Team Manager when I mentioned our automation efforts would be delayed due to other services that were back logged within the organization. We were effectively stuck with good ideas and no way to quickly get them into our users’ hands. The pressure was mounting for how to work faster and better without waiting on automation services. Through this interactive talk, I’ll share the story of how the Kanban Method was used to deliver work faster and better without any use of automation. I’ll reference a case study from the US Department of Labor to highlight how a division was able to improve the performance of two teams by greater than 50% without any additional technical advantages. Learning Outcomes: • You’ll walk away with a good appreciation for how the Kanban Method can be used to improve performance without any additional technological changes to your environment • You’ll learn three simple measurements and one simple technique that will challenge and improve your business Bio: Joey Spooner is an Accredited Kanban Trainer and Kanban Coaching Professional at TriTech Enterprise Systems, Inc.
