Welcome all big data geeks, Cassandra users, and NoSQL enthusiasts; thanks for joining the SF Cassandra users group!

This is the first meetup in a series of monthly meetups hosted by Disqus in San Francisco, just a couple blocks away from the Embarcadero Bart station.

At this meetup George Courtsunis, software engineer at Disqus, will be presenting:

• How Cassandra is used at Disqus for a number of critical platform components, ranging from real-time content recommendation to a fast and scalable caching tier.

• Why they made the decision to utilize Cassandra, as well as some of the insights and gotchas they've run into along the way.

• And lastly, he'll leave you with some fun ideas that they'll be exploring with Cassandra for the near future.

About George Courtsunis
