Saturday, February 26, 7 easy miles
Meet at the River Road entrance to the Capital Crescent (CC) Trail. We'll walk down the Trail to the Little Falls Watershed Trail at Massachusetts Ave. for a 7-mile roundtrip hike to the Potomac River. There, we will find the mouth of the Little Falls Branch. The trail continues to MacArthur Blvd., which we will cross and then walk through the Brookmont Neighborhood. We'll cross over the Clara Barton Parkway to the C&O Canal at Lock 6. It's short walk to Lock 5, where the Little Falls Branch passes under the Canal. Then, there's a scramble along the creek to the Potomac River.
Depending on the weather, there may be an optional lunch in downtown Bethesda's street eatery. Either bring your own, or get take out from the myriad restaurants on Woodmont and Bethesda Aves. There are picnic tables on Woodmont where anyone can sit.
Limited parking is available on the street in front of the Ballroom next to the Washington Episcopal School and in the Whole Foods/Ledo Pizza strip mall parking lot. There is also a parking lot at the Bethesda Community Pool, about 0.5 miles further north along the CC Trail at Little Falls Parkway and Hillandale Ave. (If you want to part at the pool, keep in mind that Little Falls Pkwy is closed on weekends and you would have to enter the lot via Hillandale.)
Bring water, a snack, hiking boots and hiking stick (in case of snow or ice). Only fully vaccinated people are allowed on the hike. You must sign the on line waiver to be permitted on the hike, and read and accept the guidelines.

We’ve recently made some changes to the ‘Waitlist’ feature on the platform. We’ve noticed that this changes has caused a few issues along the way, including the one you’re describing. Our tech team has been alerted about this issue and is working hard to get it resolved.
It looks like some Meetup events are appearing as ‘Full’ when viewed on the mobile web browser or Meetup app.
However, everything should work normally is your members try RSVPing for the event on the desktop web version of the platform (on a computer, rather than a phone) Meetup tech team has been alerted about this issue and is working hard to get it resolved.
