Fall Meetup
Hello everyone! UNCC will be hosting our next Meetup. Thanks to Rick Hudson and the Visualization Center ( This event will take place in Room 210 in the Cone Center (There is a map and link below). We will have a speaker, followed by "quick hits", and then demos. Our speaker is still TBD. We are inviting anyone to present a five minute "quick hit." These are short presentations about companies, educational institutions, or independent professionals highlighting what they are doing or are interested in related to VR or AR. Please contact Steven to be put on the agenda (but it is OK to just show up and present). Questions and discussions are encouraged. This is all about learning. We should have at least one Vive and a Rift for demos. Please feel free to bring a device for showing off especially if you have an AR device. Contact us if you are interested and if you have any special requirements. We look forward to seeing everyone. Thanks, Steven, Scott, and Justin Here is a link to the UNCC campus map: The Cone Center is #5 on the key and you will want to park in the Cone Visitor Deck which is labeled "Cone Deck 2". If there are any other questions or concerns, please let us know. Hope to see you all there!

    What we're about

The Charlotte Virtual Reality Meetup brings together like-minded individuals that see the potential of the emerging Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality industry. All levels of interest are welcome. Whether you are a developer, an enthusiast, or just want to try out VR for yourself, we encourage you to participate in the VR movement. This participation will involve experiencing the latest available in VR technology and discussing the future of VR and its many applications. VR is currently becoming more well-known to the general public through the introduction of HMD's created by brands such as Oculus, Samsung, Google and HTC. These HMD's largely focus on the entertainment aspect of virtual reality. However, the technology has many more practical, everyday uses. It will continue to evolve and transform various fields, such as healthcare, education, and communications, to name a few. We believe this will be the platform of the future and it is only in its infancy. To our knowledge, there is not a significant amount of awareness in the Charlotte, NC area in regards to VR and AR. We would like to change that by creating a network of enthusiasts in this region to share ideas and enhance this experience.
