Let's play with some enzymes

Our bodies are full of tiny machines made of proteins that do everything from digest our food and break down toxins to building toxins and sending important signals between cells. These machines can be engineered to help in our everyday lives, in detergents, in dietary supplements, in industry, etc. Let's play around with some purified enzymes and see the full range of their capabilities. We're going to play with some hands on chemistry some of these amazing machines. As an added bonus, we'll all put our alcohol dehydrogenase enzymes to the test with some delicious beers at Empirical Brewing's taproom.
