Spend quality time with children making arts & crafts, creative games at shelter

Details
Help children at a homeless shelter for families affected by domestic violence. Spend some quality time with children on weekly Thursday nights, making arts and crafts, or playing drama games to help them express their emotions and creativity in a positive way while building their self esteem. The children's ages range from 6 to 14 years old, and they thrive and heal on kindness and personal attention.
Requirements: Volunteers must be kind, compassionate, patient and love to have fun with kids. Please bring a government issued ID to get approved by security desk, they may need to run a background check on your identity. If you have coaching skills in drama, music, singing, dancing, improv, etc, that is also beneficial to work with the children.
While your attendance is not required every week, it helps the children regain and retain their trust in adults if they see the same familiar faces on a regular basis. It will form a lasting bond and friendship you will treasure. The ideal volunteer for this project is one that can come on a weekly basis, or as often as you can when your schedule is free on each Thursday evening. For volunteers on the waiting list, priority and preference are given to volunteers that have served at this location previously and are familiar with the children's program.
After you RSVP, please send me a private message (Click on Wilson's picture and click on the Message button underneath my name) with your name, email address and cell phone number and I will text you the address details. If you want to bring a guest to volunteer, please have them register on here individually, no anonymous guest allowed. All volunteers must be 18 years or older, no minors allow.
