Self-Publishing 101: How To Do It Well

Details
If you’re new to self-publishing, or if you’ve self-published before and need a refresher, this in-depth look at the fundamentals of self-publishing is for you. We’ll cover all the important areas, including:
• Writing your manuscript
• Levels of editing and proofreading needed
• Book production (cover design, interior layout, printing, and ebook formatting)
• Distribution
We'll also touch briefly on book marketing and give away a few copies of The Fundamentals of Self-Publishing: A Primer on Contracts, Printing Costs, Royalties, Distribution, Ebooks, and Marketing, Fifth Edition by Mark Levine.
You’ll leave with a solid understanding of the basics of self-publishing and a comprehensive handout covering all the steps in the publishing process.
There is no registration fee and everyone is welcome--please RSVP.
The meeting location is the Lincoln Park Library, 1150 W Fullerton. We'll be in the Auditorium Room: Turn right at the reception desk, walk to the end of the hall, and turn left.
After the meeting, we can stay at the cafe to continue the conversation over self-pay coffee and pastries.
