What we're about

Those of us who live in or know the South Loop recognize it's one of Chicago's best neighborhoods. We will explore the area, targeting to walk about 2.5 miles/5,000 steps and ending at a local restaurant or bar (our "hosts"). We will also schedule visits to venues or activities. Everyone is asked to share a story or two about the buildings, businesses, neighborhood history, favorite spots, etc.

We will also elbow our way to Downtown, West Loop, River North, Chinatown, Bronzeville and other neighborhoods over time. This group is for anyone who lives in the South Loop or wants to get to know the area better. Sign up, do something new, stay active, meet people and tell your friends to join us! And please take and post pictures.

Group Walking Stats Effective 8/28/19 (12 walks plus one special event):

• 34 miles each

• 71,500 steps each

• 473 miles collectively

• 985,000 steps collectively

About the Organizer:

I have lived in the South Loop for more than 15 years. It’s a great area and we have some exciting development ahead. So, created this group to invite others to join me and take a closer look at everything. For fun, I’m also a travel blogger, writing about cities in Europe and North America (check out my site at https://businesstraveldestinations.com and social media at https://twitter.com/businesstravel -- follow me there, like, retweet photos, comment, etc.).
