Chicago South Loop Explorers

Interested in exploring all that Chicago has to offer? We are, too. Founded in 2019, Chicago South Loop Explorers brings people together to discover the city, meet new friends, and enjoy meaningful conversation. While the South Loop is our home base, our adventures take us throughout downtown Chicago and occasionally into other neighborhoods.

Our core activities include:

• Trivia Tuesday – a fun weekly gathering to test your knowledge and enjoy good company

• Walk & Wander – casual walks through interesting neighborhoods, parks and destinations around the city (planned for 2nd Thursdays, 6 p.m.)

• Coffee Chats – relaxed conversations where members can connect, share stories and get to know one another (planned for 1st Saturdays, 10 a.m.)

Along the way, we explore local history, architecture, restaurants, museums, businesses, cultural attractions and hidden gems. Whether you're new to Chicago or have lived here for years, there's always something new to discover.

Watch the calendar for additional events throughout the year, including neighborhood explorations, cultural outings, seasonal activities and member-generated ideas.

Have an event idea? Suggest it—or better yet, host it! Member participation helps make the group stronger and more interesting for everyone.

To help keep the community independent and offset the costs of operating the group, annual membership dues are $12 per year (just $1 per month), plus Meetup's processing fee. Active members may qualify for waived fees in the future.
