From `rails new` to App Store: Building iOS and Android Apps with Rails 5 and Turbolinks
Rails 5 ships with with Turbolinks 5, a ground-up rewrite that integrates with iOS and Android adapters, enabling you to build native apps with your HTML views. Pretty neat! Trevor and Geoff will build an Action Cable-based chat app that runs on both native platforms as well as the web. They will share what they learn along the way, and take you through some of the more interesting bits of code.

Trevor (https://twitter.com/trevorturk) is currently working as a freelance programmer after spending 4+ years at Basecamp (AKA 37signals.) He’s helping build a new version of IFTTT (If This Then That) and also enjoys working on his side project: Hello Weather, yet another weather app for iOS (and soon Android!)

Geoff (https://twitter.com/gbuesing) is currently working as a freelance software developer, working on a mix of Ruby/Rails, iOS and Node.js projects. He previously co-founded two Chicago-based tech startups: Timelines and SalesHound.com (now ShopLocal.) He's been working with Rails since 2005, and he led the effort to integrate time zones into Rails.
