Life Is Short So Let's Have Some Fun Group!

The Musical Box is a premier Genesis tribute band that plays many of Genesis' best known songs, INCLUDING, "The Musical Box."

October 22, they are playing at the Playhouse where I have seen them perform previously.

So if you are a fan, come join. I spoke with group sales and we can get Orchestral tickets at about $50 each including fees with a min of 10 tickets purchased.

Since tickets are limited so we can sit together (or at least nearby to each other), I'm going to say commit by Wednesday at 12 noon, 10/8/2025. Text me at 216-339-9380 your interest (and any questions) and whether You prefer Cashapp, Paypal or Zelle to cover your ticket purchase.
We can take a poll re dinner/appetizers before or after, perhaps on 4th st.

If you've never played before, that's ok. We'll teach you, but there are 2 requirements:

1. You need a solid understanding of at least 1 other trick-taking game (pinochle, euchre, hearts, spades...)
2. You need to show up consistently. If you come this week and 2 weeks later and 4 weeks after that, you'll never get it.

If you're an experienced player, please join us whenever you can. There won't be a lot of "lecture", mostly just playing.

RSVP ("Attend") here for the 11th softball pick-up game on Oct 25, 4-6p (NEW TIME). Slow-pitch. Equipment is provided, or bring your own.

Co-ed, "adults" or capable of playing with adults. The idea is to have fun and enjoy the game - not hardcore competition.

The first 10 games went very well, with a great, fun group of people. We have good pitchers, fielders - all positions. And some (most?) of us need a LOT more practice (like myself). So, if you're new or "not as good as you used to be," you'll fit right in.

Come hit some balls and run the bases. Life is short ...and so are Ohio's warmer seasons! We've had a first snow in mid-October.

Lessons learned: Quite a few of us pulled leg muscles running to first base. Stretching before games (& throughout the week) is a good idea, including on off-days and the off-season. Also, as I was told, making high circles with hips, like climbing over a hurdle. Maybe ask your doctor.

Parking: Your GPS will lead you to the main Calvin Field parking lot. We're on Field #1, the closest field to the lot. Can park throughout the surrounding neighborhood, too.

Heat/safety: There is a water fountain by the (very nice!) bathrooms, including a bottle-filler. I bring a small first aid kit. Defib machine/box at bathoom. Field is little red gravel, not sand, so be careful if you slide.

There is a "splash park," to cool off, near the parking lot - press the red button. Operating until 730p during SUMMER hours.

ONGOING EVENT/TIMING / EQUIPMENT / CONTACT INFO:

Many want to continue Sat's 6-8p in the sunmer, and 5-7p or 4-6p as sunset gets earlier. We're open to other days/times - your feedback is welcome!

We're starting with slow-pitch co-ed softball. We're talking about what to do in winter months. Suggestions welcome (bowling & pickleball so far).

I bring 6 aluminum bats (various lengths/weights), 12 gloves (various sizes - getting more - now have 11” & 12" for lefties), 11" softballs (& two 12" we found, seems preferred), face & body protection for pitchers, catchers and umpires.

We can try fast-pitch softball or regular baseball sometime, if enough people prefer that.
