The majority of the Zoo destinations can be enjoyed during the festival though a few areas will be inaccessible. Certain animals will be available for viewing throughout the event. Some animals such as the Amur and Snow Leopards are nocturnal and may be more active during event hours while other animals may be less visible depending on their individual needs. Are these the same lanterns as last year? This year's festival features more than 70 never-before-seen, large-scaled illuminated displays and over 1,000 individual lanterns. Some of the all-new highlights include a 200 foot-long phoenix that sprawls across Waterfowl Lake, dynamic walk-through displays and a towering six-story tall colorful pagoda. The new Dinosaurs Around the World: The Great Outdoors exhibition is also included in the purchase of each Asian Lantern Festival ticket. As part of the festival, guests can experience nearly two dozen gigantic dinosaurs as they come to life at night along Waterfowl Lake. The new exhibition is supported by Cleveland Clinic Children’s and produced by Imagine Exhibitions. Is Asian Lantern Festival a family-friendly event? Does the Group 4-pack work for any combination of adults/children? The Group 4-pack works for guests of all ages. What safety precautions is the Zoo taking at Asian Lantern Festival? To allow for proper social distancing, there will be a limited number of tickets available each night of Asian Lantern Festival and advance reservations are strongly recommended. As tickets are limited each night, an additional evening of the event has been added each week to accommodate guests this year. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo will also have several safety measures during the festival to protect against COVID-19 including one-way directional flow through the event, handwashing stations and frequent sanitation of Zoo grounds. Guests are required to wear facial coverings during their visit. Facial coverings are not required for children under 6 years of age, or any individual who cannot wear a face covering because of a medical condition, mental health condition or developmental disability, or who is unable to remove the face covering without assistance, and any individual who should not wear face coverings under the CDC guidance. Face coverings are not required while patrons are dining at the Zoo. If a patron is not seated at his or her table, a face covering is required. What food options will be available? The festival will also feature a variety of Asian food and beverage, including local favorites Li Wah and King Wah as well as some of the Zoo’s regular concessions, such as Kiko’s Kitchen, and Pizza Hut will also be available for purchase.

Thursday Towpath Ride | Winking Lizard | Yogurt @ Lemonberry We will ride on the towpath. This ride is cross posted on 3 groups: Life is Short, Curt’s Happy Trails, and Fun Times on the West Side. Please arrive a few minutes early so you can get your bike set up. Meet at the Brecksville train station at 6pm then ride South to Peninsula for dinner, then ride North back to Brecksville. (about 14 miles round trip). It is important that we practice social distancing and do not hang out in a large group. We will spread out while riding so we are not too close to each other. Patches of the trail are rough too, so we need to spread out so we don't run into other riders. Moses organized this ride for years. In his honor, let's maintain the tradition of this being a friendly and inclusive group. Please sit with / interact with new people and get to know them. If you're new, reach out and talk to others - keep coming consistently and by the end of the summer you'll make a lot of new friends. Early in the season we will be riding in the dark sometimes while we are riding back. Bring lights. Around the first couple of weeks in June it will be light the whole ride.
