Red Rocks Las Vegas over Christmas vacation (JTree as a backup)

Details
Road trip to Red Rocks?
If the weather doesn't look too promising we'll consider changing the meetup to Joshua Tree instead.
Proposed dates: Dec 26 through Jan 1 or 2
Camping $15 per night w/ max of 9 people per site. No reservations. First-come, first-served.
Recommended personal gear list:
warm sleeping bag (mummy bags in stuff sacks take up the least space)
sleeping pad (to insulate you from the cold ground)
down jacket
harness
helmet (mandatory. I have extras if anybody needs one)
climbing shoes WITH small LOCKING BINER (so you they don't fall off on the trail - it happens)
sunglasses
sun cap
lip balm
plate, bowl, insulated cup, utensils
Shared gear:
tent
campstove (1 for every two people should be enough)
camp fuel
water cooler (try to minimize food that needs to keep cold)
BBQ and propane (I am thinking of bringing mine if there is room)
lantern
Additional personal gear if you plan on doing multipitch climbs:
NO cotton clothes. Only synthetics.
helmet
headlamp with fresh batteries (recommend a second headlamp too, it's hard to install new batteries in the dark and a second headlamp weighs next to nothing), and remember you will probably be using up your batteries around the campsite so want an extra set for just climbing
camelbak (to carry rain jacket, headlamp, water, food, hat, etc. on the climb)
rain jacket (absolutely necessary for multipitch climbs, sudden snow and rain storms are a reality at Red Rocks)
fleece hat
fleece gloves
warm jacket (fleece or synthetic down) emergency blanket 2 prussiks nut tool daisy chain or runner with small locking biner
compact knife
shared for multipitch:
rope
bail webbing and rap rings
first aid kit w lighter
TP
topos
compass
walkie talkies (I will probably bring mine)
