🤝 Joint Meetup: How to Host WordPress on Google Cloud

Dear Cloud enthusiasts!

This time we are organizing a joint meetup with the WordPress Nuremberg user group (https://www.meetup.com/Nurnberg-WordPress-Meetup/). WordPress is THE most popular content management system (CMS) on the Internet. The meetup will be held as a workshop, where each participant can learn how to install and run a WordPress instance in a cloud environment. In addition, we'll discuss such topics as scalability, load balancing, regional availability, etc.

Agenda:
19:00 Welcome & introduction round
19:20 Lab 1: "A Tour of Qwiklabs and the Google Cloud Platform" (40 minutes)
20:00 Break
20:20 Lab 2: "Running WordPress on App Engine Flexible Environment" (40 minutes)
21:00 Discussions & Networking
22:00 End of the event

Both labs will be conducted by our trainer using the Qwiklabs (https://google.qwiklabs.com/) learning platform. Every single step will be clearly explained and if necessary discussed. WordPress will be installed in a real Google Cloud environment (no simulation).

EACH PARTICIPANT has the opportunity to bring along his own laptop and carry out both labs on site! Anyone who chooses to do so, will get 1 month FREE access to the Qwiklabs learning platform ($55 value), where you can solve many more labs and quests and by doing so unlock a 2nd free month of Qwiklabs access.

The event will take place as part of the Cloud Study Jam campaign - a series of hands-on workshops on various Google Cloud technologies. The workshop requires no prior knowledge, all steps will be explained in a simple and understandable way.

This is a completely FREE event. The drinks and snacks will be on us. The good mood and curious mind on you 😊
