You Denver Cocoaheads chapter meets monthly to geek out on all the frameworks and bits involved in making Mac and iOS apps. We talk about code and technical problems and solutions. You are encouraged to bring and share your code so we can all learn from each other.
While we plan to have presentations from time to time, this group is more of a community code study group. We'll be getting down and dirty in the code from here on in. We'll be dissecting member's code, open source frameworks, even apple's open source code, in an effort to be better Cocoa, Mac and iOS developers. Group participation is encouraged!
John Nyquist will present "You Don't Know Swift!"
He says: "For this presentation, I'm assuming you are already using Swift.
As developers, often we are thrown into new languages for a new project and have to hit the ground running. The result is you use the skills you currently know and work in the new language like you did in the old language…Not taking the time to slow down and smell the roses.
Language designers (usually) put a great deal of thought into what features they include in a new language (justifying its existence). Swift has a great deal of interesting features, I hope you find a few roses in this presentation."
