Code for Philly: Open House Night

Join us for a special Open House happy hour at Ladder 15! This week we are celebrating the kick-off of our 2018 Civic Engagement Launchpad.

What's Launchpad?
The Civic Engagement Launchpad is a month-long community initiative to launch public, open source, and multi-disciplinary projects. We welcome anyone who wants to engage with fellow citizens and local government. The best teams bring together a diverse set of talents and experiences.

This event will be a great opportunity for those who were unable to make it to this past weekend's opening events but still want to get involved. Newly-formed project teams will be in attendance advertising their needs to potential new members - like YOU!

Come socialize with other members of Code for Philly, meet some new people, and maybe join a project team or start one yourself! This event is open to everyone - newcomers as well as veterans. Code for Philly Leadership team members will be in attendance to answer any questions and make introductions! Code for Philly Leads will have Code for Philly stickers on!

• What do I need to know before showing up?

This is a casual event; you can come at any time. If you can only come for part of it, that’s okay! The night is what you make of it. You don’t need to bring anything, just show up, grab a name tag, and join a conversation.

• Who is this event for?

This event is for anyone looking to get involved in the civic tech space, applying their expertise to help solve social problems in Philadelphia.

• Do I need to be a coder?

No! We welcome civic hackers of all varieties. This is a social hour, we encourage newcomers to talk with people and explore where they can contribute their skills. Researchers, analysts, practitioners, designers, writers, photographers, have all contributed to Code for Philly projects and operations.
