This workshop is for anyone who is interested in working with Tableau to produce high quality, interactive data visualizations. Everyone is welcome to attend whether you are completely new to Tableau or have some amount of experience, as we will begin with the very basics of using this tool and progress to more advanced techniques.
The format will be interactive, with the instructor demonstrating how to create specific example visualizations within Tableau, followed by time for the students to replicate the visualizations and ask questions. Throughout the course, there will also be several breakout sessions where the students will create a new visualization from scratch utilizing techniques covered in earlier demonstrations. Topics covered will include visualization best practices, utilizing calculated fields, data preparation techniques, working with multiple measures, creating drill-down variables, and many more!
