Immerse yourself in a creative and supportive learning environment where you can produce some of your greatest photographs! Portfolio Projects is a six-month-long class that uniquely blends the structure and comradery of a classroom with the focus and guidance of private training and mentoring. In this class, you will be taken through the entire process, from the birth of your idea to the hanging of your best photograph on a gallery wall! It’s time to start your personal project and we are here to help!

Portfolio Projects is a class for photographers who want to challenge themselves, create compelling photographs, and push their work in a new direction. The primary focus of the class is to help navigate each student through the complicated process of developing and executing a long-term portfolio project. The primary goal of the class is for each student to create a final portfolio of 10 exceptional photographs that will propel them forward in their creative endeavors.

Note: Payments, retainers, and deposits on private training, workshops, and classes are non-refundable unless the class is canceled due to low attendance.

Students will receive a Preparation Guide to help them start planning their personal project.

• Cost of materials for project and/or gallery show prints/art

• Additional use of the studio/equipment outside of Open Studio Nights

CLASS SCHEDULE (overview)

The Portfolio Projects Class starts on April 10th and meets 3 times per month on Tuesdays between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. The classroom sessions are scheduled for 4/10, 5/1, 6/12, 7/10, 8/7, and 9/11 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Work In Progress Critiques, Open Studio Nights, and Classroom Workshops are scheduled and those dates are available upon request. The private training and mentoring can be scheduled at the student’s convenience using our appointment scheduler.

• A detailed class schedule with monthly objectives is available upon request.

• On April 10th you will have access to the class calendar with the additional dates chosen by the class.

Student Responsibilities:

A. Students are expected to reserve at least 4 hours each week for their projects outside of class time. This time can be used for tasks like drafting concepts, location scouting, practicing new techniques, creating imagery, testing materials, editing, etc. Any additional take-home assignments will be easily manageable for any schedule.

B. Students must complete their project by September 30th. This class cannot be extended or postponed for any reason.

C. 100% attendance for classroom sessions and other portfolio project related events is encouraged but not mandatory. Should you miss a class/event you will not be penalized. It is your responsibility to get caught up with the class by exchanging notes or communicating with other students. The instructor will not be able to repeat a class/event you missed.

D. Students are responsible for scheduling their mentoring hours using our appointment scheduler for the month they are assigned. If the student does not schedule a mentoring session when assigned, that time is forfeited.
