Machine learning enables developers and analysts to rapidly detect patterns in complex data sets. Often these tools are presented with descriptions of how to implement them, but, not always the clearest guidelines on when to implement them. Or, more crucially, when not to implement them. Learning algorithm selection, feature identification, and how to spot warning signs of impending doom are essential for getting the most out of machine learning efforts.
Kevin Croxall is the Director of Data Science at Expeed Software. As a data scientist, he has designed and implemented analytic solutions for many government and commercial clients. He has authored 60 peer-referred publications that have dealt with a wide variety of data. He uses his background creating automated pipelines and investigating the mysteries of the universe to create robust solutions for a variety of business problems. In addition to solving complex problems, Kevin is an accomplished turophile.
