What we’re about
A Socratic philosophy discussion group modeled after the 'Socrates Cafe' book by Christopher Phillips. Topics of interest are submitted, the authors of the topics briefly discuss why the topic is interesting to them, a vote is taken, a topic chosen, and a lively discussion ensues. This format is a friendly dialog where everyone is open and supportive each of others ideas and growing of one's own understanding of the topic.
Started in 2005 and added to Meetup in April of 2007.
We generally have between 5 (minimum) and 15 people show up. Many of the members do not belong to Meetup, meaning the Meetup's RSVP number does not reflect the number of people that plan on attending.
