Our jobs as connectors: How content strategy connects the entire web process

Details
Consider this a call to multidisciplinary action: We as content strategists are the glue that hold a web project together. We are the ones who touch every part of a project—from discovery to development and beyond. And that means we need to understand not just words, but the systems and processes we build around those words.
This talk will take a look at how we can be not just good content strategists, but good web strategists, helping craft our work in a way that helps research, design, development, and ongoing support—all while learning a bit about our work in the process.
In this talk, you’ll learn:
- How content strategy ultimately affects stages further down the project timeline—design, development, support
- What you need to know about the different disciplines in order to make their—and your!—job easier
- How content strategy fits into the larger ecosystem of a web design or development project
- How content and governance form the backbone of the entire web experience
