Big Blockchain Bug Bounty Bake Off

TL;DR:
~ A series of Monday night meetups to learn how to build a Cordite Digital Mutual, and issue tokens, on the Corda network sponsored by the Cordite Foundation ~

The Cordite CorDapp provides you with the tools to create the operating framework and governing rules of a digitalised mutual society (think of Mutual insurance company, or a Cricket Club, any kind of group where the members pay regular organisation fees to keep it running and elect the executive committee from their members). Cordite also has tokenisation built into it, and put together this means that Cordite provides all the tools you would need to run a “Digital Mutual” on a Corda network, including it’s finances. Because Cordite (https://cordite.readthedocs.io) provides all the tools you need to create a Digital Mutual, it’s an ideal sandbox to rapidly create and try out different schemes and economic models to see what works the best.

From Monday 26th November, we will run a “Bake Off” competition, where over 6 Monday nights participants work together in teams to design and build their own tokenised Digital Mutual. 3 weeks before Christmas break, and 3 weeks in January, participants will be able to create, test and vote on the best, in a rapid “churn and burn” experimental process with their peers, where as a group we steadily improve and reduce the number of Digital Mutual prototypes until only the best and most mature one is left! The winning Digital Mutual will be hydrated with £1000 of tokens and then be run live!

The theme is a Bug Bounty scheme…the idea is to find a way to incentivise the testing and fixing of bugs in the cordite nodes. What would encourage you to find and fix bugs?

AT THIS MEETUP YOU WILL:
1- Create and run a Cordite node
2- Design and create governance frameworks (aka "Digital Mutuals" or "DAO")
3- Learn how to exchange digital assets on a Corda network using Cordite
4- Take part in a fun competition to design the best Bug Bounty Scheme on a Digital Mutual
5- Test different schemes and economic models and refine the best ideas over 6 weeks
6- Have a chance to see your Digital Mutual CorDapp go live and be backed with real cash!

FORMAT
Part 1: Introduction to Cordite and set up a node. Introduce Bounty Scheme recipe repo. Form into pairs or small teams.
Part 2: Develop a bounty scheme for contributions to the Cordite project
Part 3: Iteratively trial your bounty schemes and then vote on the best ones, recycling members back into the best schemes
Part 4: Storm and Norm to a single team working on a single sustainable Open Source bounty scheme
Part 5: Hydrate the best scheme with £1000 of cash and see it go live
