Couchbase Analytics: An Evening of Technical Tapas and Beer
Speakers:
Michael Carey, Dmitry Lychagin, Sachin Smotra, and Till Westmann (Couchbase)
Description:
The Couchbase Analytics Service is the newest member of the Couchbase Data Platform, having made its official debut in Couchbase Server 6.0 in October 2018. This meetup will provide a developer-oriented technical overview of the new service, which offers
Massively Parallel Processing of analytical queries on current Couchbase-resident data with minimal impact on the operational performance of a Couchbase cluster.
The evening will be structured as a series of “technical tapas” - short technical talks, each with an accompanying demonstration - that will cover the service as a whole, its SQL++ based query language (N1QL for Analytics), a look at its internals, and a preview of several roadmap goodies that will show up in future releases (including fully parallel sorts and support for windowed analytics).
To help wash down the technical tapas, each of the demos will all involve everyone’s favorite data - the beer-sample bucket, of course - so attendees will be able try most of what they see later, on their own (except for the previewed roadmap features).
