We are always looking for volunteers to lead weekend and/or evening events. Send us a message if interested.
Meet other locals who are interested in cross-country skiing, both skate and classic in season and other silent sports when there's no snow. Our members are a wealth of knowledge of local parks and trails, as well as gear and technique. All skill levels are welcome. This group is an extension of the North Star Cross Country Skiing Club established 1967.
Membership is encouraged at 20/yr/household but only required for participation in extended events. Every Year we have a number of extended Cross Country Ski Events locally, nationally and internationally that are published in October. For more information visit [North-stars.org](North-Stars.org)

Hike Afton State Park
Afton State Park, 6959 Peller Avenue South, Hastings, MN, USNorth Stars Wednesday Wanderers Event. To see host info and last minute updates see North Star Calendar. Go to North Star Calendar to see location and directions. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Visitor Center, 6959 Peller Avenue South, Hastings MN 55033. Start hiking at 10:15 a.m. We will hike about 4 miles, mostly on dirt and grass trails. There are some very steep uphills and downhills, so you will probably want to bring your hiking poles. Bring a water bottle and a lunch to eat afterwards in the Visitor Center. Annual or daily state park permit can be purchased in the park office.

NorthStar Summer Picnic

Minnehaha Regional Park Picnic Area, Wabun Site B, 4:30-6:30 p.m. The club will provide pulled pork buns and a vegetarian option, ice water, lemonade, and cups. Please bring a dish to share and your own eating utensils and plates. Come with information about upcoming trips, and stories about trips this past winter. There are many beautiful sites and trails in the area to visit before or after the dinner.

Bike Rosemount/Hastings
Fahey Avenue Trailhead, Fahey Ave S,, Rosemount, MN, USNorth Stars Wednesday Wanderers Event. To see host info and last minute updates see North Star Calendar. Go to North Star Calendar to see location and directions. Bike Rosemount/Hastings. Meet at 9:30 a.m. at the Fahey Trailhead, Spring Lake Park Reserve, 13690 Pine Bend Trail, Rosemount, MN 55068. The Fahey Trailhead is located 4 miles west from the main park entrance. There is a park sign on Hwy 55 at Fahey Road for the Fahey trailhead. Start biking at 9:45 a.m. We will bike on the trail through the park to Hastings and return by the same route {approximately 20 miles}. Bring a bag lunch to eat at the picnic shelter after the return trip.

Approximate distance is 25 miles at 10-12 MPH. Could be a bit faster, but not slower. Please bring a helmet and water!
