This group is for anyone who wants to get to the heart of a culture through an exploration of its cuisine. Through official Meetups we can discover different cultures through small group culinary events, field trips, culinary theaters, and discussions. We also organize small culinary tours to foreign destinations and will have plenty of opportunities to travel and eat!

Sample the most authentic regional cuisine in homes, neighborhood eateries, and elegant gourmet restaurants. Delve into the secrets of Jordanian dishes by participating in a cooking class. And enjoy talks on culinary topics and visits to bustling markets to learn about the herbs, spices, and condiments that are prevalent in Jordanian cookery.

​We will also see major tourist sights, including the Dead Sea, Petra, and Wadi Rum, yet still have time to shop and relax along the way. You’ll come away with a knowledge of the culinary traditions of Jordan and a deep appreciation of the magnitude of history and culture that this ancient land possesses.

Our Culinary Tours are perfect for those with special dietary needs. Because we work closely with all of our chefs on our tours, we can easily accommodate dietary choices and restrictions.

2023 Eat Smart Culinary and Safari Tour of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana

Back by popular demand! Join us on our 2023 Eat Smart Culinary, Cultural and Safari Tour of South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana. Our small group tours allow you to experience each destination in a meaningful way to create not only fond memories but you’ll gain a strong understanding of the culture.

Explore Cape Town’s history and coastline and admire the city from the summit of Table Mountain. Learn how to cook a typical Malay dish in the iconic Bo-Kaap neighborhood, where you'll discover the culture and rich culinary traditions of Malay from a friendly local. Travel to the Cape of Good Hope and hang out with the Boulders Penguin Colony in Simon’s Town, home to a unique and endangered land-based colony of African penguins.

Sip wine and enjoy exquisite cuisine in Franschhoek. World-renowned for its spectacular beauty, superb Cape wines, and world class restaurants, the beautiful village of Franschhoek is a definite must-visit destination on any trip to the Western Cape of South Africa. Founded in 1688 by French Huguenots, this scenic gem nestles in a rich and fertile valley, between glorious towering mountains, right in the beautiful heart of the Cape winelands.

Admire the spectacular and majestic Victoria Falls from the air and by land and have the opportunity to visit nearby villages and markets.

Track big game in Botswana and see smaller creatures on a guided bush walk. Located in the Chobe Forest Reserve in Western Botswana, our private is located on the edge of a plateau, offering endless views over the seasonal Chobe flood plain. It also bears witness to magnificent sunsets – the ultimate way to celebrate the end of another perfect African day.

Our tour of Johannasburg takes us through the streets of So-we-to (South Western Townships) and its adjoining suburbs. Experience all the turmoil of this city during the “apartheid” years. Our tour will include a visit to the Apartheid Museum and the Hector Pieterson memorial and museum. The Regina Mundi Catholic Church is the largest Catholic Cathedral in the Southern Hemisphere (1 600 square meters) and was also the venue for many illegal meetings during the struggle in South Africa. Here one of the few Black Madonna’s in the world can be seen.

Enjoy your second safari in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, which lies nestled between the Kruger National Park on the east, the Klaserie and Umbabat Private Nature Reserves in the north and the Thornybush Private Nature Reserve in the west. There are no fences between the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve and Kruger National Park, allowing game to move freely between the reserves. Naturally occurring white lions were first discovered in the Timbavati in the mid-1970's and today they continue to be discovered in the reserve. The reserve is focused on responsible tourism and all tourism profits are reinvested in the management of the reserve to ensure that local communities benefit, and that future generations will be able to experience and enjoy the area.

$9875 in double occupancy. The single supplement is $1,500.

Join Joan Peterson and William Wongso, Culinary Ambassador of Indonesia, in getting to the heart of Indonesian culture through an exploration of her tantalizing cuisine. You may remember seeing William Wongso featured alongside Gordon Ramsey on the Unchartered episode on Sumatra. Sample the infinite variety of regional Indonesian specialties in their natural setting. Delve into the secrets of Indonesian dishes by participating in a cooking class. Also included will be talks on culinary topics and visits to bustling markets to learn about the herbs, spices and condiments that are prevalent in Indonesian cookery.

​Payment: A non-refundable** deposit is required upon booking. Once your deposit has been received, you will receive a Reservation Packet to fill out and return. **Your deposit is refundable until the tour fills and the deposits have been sent to our Polish tour operator.

Cancellation and Refund: If written notice of cancellation is received from passenger more than 60 days prior to departure, all advance payments minus the non-refundable deposit will be refunded. If cancellation is made 60 – 31 days before departure, the cancellation charge is 50% of the tour cost. If cancellation is made 30 – 1 days before departure, the cancellation charge is 100% of the tour cost.
