DUE TO WEATHER CONDITIONS WE HAVE RESCHEDULED THE FEBRUARY MEETUP TO MARCH 12, 2019. Our February Meetup has us traveling to Pasture and Plenty on University Avenue. Join local food authors Ronnie Hess and Joan Peterson for a Culinary Sampling of Portugal and France. We will be enjoying demonstrations on classic dishes with discussions from the authors on the history of the cuisine. Regional wines from Portugal and France, especially chosen for our event, will be available for purchase. Tuesday, MARCH 12, 2019 from 6pm to 8pm Pasture and Plenty 2433 University Avenue, Madison Cost: $20 per person will be collected at the door.
We will need a minimum of 10 people attending this event to have a private tour. If we don't get 10, we can still go but will need to chose a date in April that is for general admission. I will remove the pay now link and list this as pay-at-the-door. Please sign up if you're interested and we can make further arrangements closer to April. Escape to the tropics and explore the wonders of the rainforest in the Bolz Conservatory. Get an insider's view of this indoor tropical oasis and discover the plants, stories, and people that make it one of Madison's most iconic places! As you smell, touch, and taste your way through this guided sensory tour, you'll encounter plants both familiar and unique. More than 650 species of tropical plants call the Conservatory home, along with a rushing waterfall, free-flying birds, and colorful koi. At the end, enjoy a signature cocktail created with ingredients derived from rainforest plants. You will take home a souvenir glass along with recipes to make your own botanically inspired drinks. $20 per person will be collected at the door.
For our May program, we're teaming up with Madison Eats Food Tours for a custom Ethnic Market Tour! Come travel the tastes of the world, without leaving the Madison area on this guided tour as we explore 3 local ethnic markets. You'll enjoy meeting local owners and receive a guided tour through the markets, explore the layout of each shopping venue, and enjoy sample plates featuring their products. Free time will be available to shop at each market exploring the unique ingredients, find everything you need to make one of our favorite recipes or create one of your own. So if you're a foodie, someone who would like to know about the area ethnic markets, have been intimidated to shop at these markets or maybe are someone who would love to start cooking different ethnic foods, but not sure where to start....this tour is for you. Approximately $35 to $50 per person. Pricing and transportation will vary depending on how many sign up. If we have enough people sign up we will share the cost of a private bus. I will provide final costs to be collected.
