The Enterprise Data Management Council and its institutional members created The Financial Industry Business Ontology (FIBO) as an open business conceptual reference model.

The Financial Industry Business Data Model (FIB-DM) is a complete transformation or the ontology into a conceptual data model. Eight hundred users downloaded the 1029-entity Open Source version. With 1,968 normative and 4,563 informative entities, the commercial version is by far the most extensive reference Enterprise Data Model for Banks, Investment Companies, and their Regulators.

The session provides an overview and demo of the FIBO Data Model and the patent-pending transformation technology that derived it.
