What we're about

Adoption of cloud native application architectures is helping many organizations transform their IT into a force for true agility in the marketplace. Microservices is a new architectural style that enables small autonomous DevOps teams to deliver software faster and operate efficiently. This meetup group is for folks building cloud applications and interested in continuous delivery, scalability, and resiliency of software. The topics will cover best practices, challenges, and solutions for development and operations of microservices-based cloud native applications.

Continuous Delivery with Spinnaker

Walmart Labs Reston

6:00pm - 6:45pm: Food & networking 6:45pm - 7:00pm: Announcements 7:00pm - 8:00pm: Continuous Delivery with Spinnaker Complex application deployment strategies (such as automated canary analysis) across multiple platforms/clouds and abstractions necessitate systems that manage continuous delivery (CD) to be more stateful than they have traditionally been. Spinnaker, donated to the OSS community by Netflix, builds on that idea bringing together application inventory (across multiple platforms) and tie them to delivery pipelines. In this meetup we will go through the following Spinnaker related topics: * Basic concepts in Spinnaker * The Spinnaker resource model * Integrating with CI systems such as Jenkins * Deploying applications across multiple platforms like Kubernetes & Cloud Foundry * Application Deployment Strategies: Blue/Green, Rolling Blue/Green, Canary Speaker: Koundinya Srinivasarao https://www.linkedin.com/in/koundinyas/ Koundinya is a Senior Platform Architect at Pivotal. With a 15+ year background in software development and nearly 20 years in IT, in his current role, he advises enterprises on how to transform the way software is built. He is an expert on Pivotal Cloud Foundry and Kubernetes and methodologies/approaches to leverage such platforms to build modern apps and to modernize legacy apps that can run in the cloud.
