This group is for people who enjoy kirtan, yoga, meditation, and other practices that help boost the well-being of your mind, body and spirit. We host monthly kirtans at the Danville Yoga & Wellness Center, as well as other workshops and regular classes on yoga, meditation, qigong, sound healing, and more.

About Kirtan:

Kirtan’s roots are in India, where it has been practiced for longer than anyone can remember. The chants are call-and-response audience participation; it's not necessary to know the chants in advance, they're usually pretty simple and very repetitive, so you'll catch on quickly.

Most chants contain words that are in Sanskrit, mantras from an ancient language. The music ranges from folk-type melodies and harmonies, to reggae and rock; some blend aspects of both Indian and American music. 

Kirtan is a rhythmic music-filled celebration that brings peace to the mind, playfulness to the heart and an opportunity to experience connection to the divine energy that resides in each of us. Dress comfortably for floor sitting, and/or movement/dance if you are so inspired!

Then, lying on a yoga mat or blanket, you’ll experience a soothing guided meditation, the sounds from the Tibetan and quartz crystal singing bowls, and the frequencies from the attunement. KARMA YOGA - FREE / BY DONATION CLASS to benefit local non-profits

Karma yoga is the practice of selfless action performed for the benefit of others, without attachment to the outcome. In that spirit, we offer this free yoga class to our community - and to the extent you are able, we will accept donations to benefit various charitable organizations that are doing good in the world. Each month, 100% of your donations will be contributed to that month’s featured non-profit. This is a Level 1-3 Iyengar yoga class, in the same style as our other Iyengar yoga classes. Beginners are welcome!
