Jeff discusses the main topics and finding from the annual week-long data summit earlier in the month. 7:15 - 8:30PM: Main Topic: "DNS - A Massively Distributed Database," by Justin Scott. Justin is IT director for Smart Communications, a leading corrections industry service provider, where he oversees a nationwide infrastructure. He has worked in various Internet technology roles since 1998, and in 1999 he founded the Managed DNS provider DtDNS, which he owned for 12 years. Topic Abstract: Step out of your SQL comfort zone and dive deep into the plumbing of the Internet. We're exploring one of the largest distributed databases in the world, DNS. What is it? How does it work? How does it help you watch cat videos faster? How can it impact how your database connections, and how can you use it assist testing in local and test environments?     What we're about

    Join the local community that loves data; SQL, Analytics, BI, Data Management. It's a great place for analysts, developers, and database architects to connect to learn, share, level up their career, make friends and have fun. Newbies to the data arena are especially welcome.

    The focus is on the Microsoft stack but we are keeping an eye on other common and emerging tools and technologies as well.

    Meetings will be planned for every 3rd Wednesday of the month. The planned agenda is as follows:

    6:00 - 6:30PM: Greet and Eat (networking)

    6:30 - 6:45PM: Welcome, Announcements, Sponsor Introductions

    6:45 - 7:15PM: Short tech topics (TBD)

    7:15 - 8:30PM: Main Topic

    8:30PM: Raffle then adjourn.

    The initial venue (Interject Data Systems office) can hold 27 attendees. For meetings that quickly hit that max, we will attempt to move the meeting to a larger venue.
