DataNight #8: When Nothing Seems To Work:
Rethinking Data Science Projects ✔

We all know the feeling - you follow the manual, train your model, only to find out the results are not exactly what you (and your clients) hoped for. In this talk we will learn from real examples how to approach this challenge. Via 4 case studies we will see that this can happen due to various and unexpected reasons, which aren't always directly related to our data. For each case, practical tips and tricks will be discussed, which will hopefully help you improve your results in your next projects.
The target audience is data scientists with 1-2 years of experience in the industry, however everyone is welcome :).

Aviv is a seasoned Data Scientist with rich experience in the fraud domain (PayPal, Intuit). She has a varied background ranging from Bioinformatics to Cyber Security and a passion for promoting girls and women in technical and scientific domains. She also makes great macarons, as she is a certified pastry chef.

Rethinking Data Science Projects- Aviv Ben-Arie, Staff Data Scientist.
🔴 20:00 - 20:15 – Questions

---------------------

How does a Data Science project work on real data? What are the difficulties of working with real world data and how to deal with them?

To answer all of those questions and more, we have opened a new ‘Big DataNights’ cohort especially for that!
In a series of meetings with professional data scientists from the industry, we will focus each time on a different topic from the real world work of Data Scientist, and learn how to deal with issues and difficulties that arise.
