Datathon Hack Night

Details

The Datathon ongoing event was created by DataPhilly (https://www.meetup.com/dataphilly) in partnership with Code for Philly (https://www.meetup.com/code-for-philly/) as a voluntary effort for the technology community to come together and combine software development, machine learning and predictive analysis expertise to develop a service that helps researchers identify drugs that are targeted to the genomic features of specific cancers. The project's name is "cognoma" - a portmanteau of the words cognition and carcinoma. Organization occurs on GitHub at cognoma/cognoma (https://github.com/cognoma/cognoma).

Hack nights provide an opportunity for in-person team work. At this, the first hack night, we'll be forming teams around each of the technology components of the project.

To achieve the aims of this project, we're seeking individuals with experience in user experience, design, visualization, high performance computing, machine learning, full stack web development, and biology.

We look forward to seeing those of you who can make it to the Hack Night, and continuing to interact throughout the course of the project on GitHub.

Can’t be there physically, but want to join virtually? Join us on Google Hangouts (https://plus.google.com/events/cqqj1922ge4f9nkkldj4pmk05mo). Please only join if you plan to attend, as there is a 10 person limit. If Hangouts is full, you can message Karin Wolok (event organizers) to help.
