Trail run at Harold Parker 8-10 miles
Join us for 8-10 miles in the trails. We will be in the Harold Parker State Forest area, and will be following the BCT up around Ward Reservation and back. There is a small parking area off Salem St. This is an intermediate run, and not meant for beginner runners. If you have never run before, or are new to running in general, please join us for Short run on Tuesday nights. Being out in the trails is a serious venture, and is unlike a typical long road run. You will be tired, there are parts where you may be walking, particularly up hills. This is perfectly acceptable. Our standard DSR rules apply--we will stop to regroup periodically. We always try to have an experience trail person in the front and the back so as to keep our group together. To have a safe and fun run in the trails, please be sure to bring: 1. Water, since we're out in the woods, there aren't water fountains or convenient store nearby. Trail running can take more out of you than a road run. Having more water than less is a good idea. 2. Snacks. Granola, nuts, gels/chews, etc, are good to have to snack on during the run. 3. A phone or map. Useful if you get separated or lost (even though we try to stick together, getting off track can happen). Hope to see you!

What we're about

We hold group runs around the Somerville, Medford, Arlington, & Cambridge areas. Our group is judgement free, and very social. Tuesday nights we hold an Intermediate 5-6 mile run, longer runs on Thursdays and over the weekend.

Tuesday nights we head out for food and drinks after the run, all participants are welcome!

Our group has a few simple rules:

1. On all of our runs we will stop occasionally to regroup with our slower members.

2. Please respect everyone's personal space.

3. We don't run with dogs or strollers, if you wish to run with either, this may not be the group for you.

4. We are an inclusive & judgement-free group!

Check out our calendar to see all upcoming meetups, and find Running Safety Guidelines on our website. (

We have many runners on our roster, all of our members have been to a meetup within the last 6 months, or have joined within the last three. Occasionally we will go through our member list and purge inactive members to maintain a current roster. If you were removed from our group, and would like to rejoin, please feel free. Removal from our active list doesn't mean you aren't welcome to come--we would love to have you!

During times of early darkness (fall, winter, early spring), we require every runner to have a headlamp and/or reflective gear.
