Barry graduated from Dublin City University, Ireland with a BS in Computer Applications and Software Engineering. He currently holds GWAPT & GPEN Certifications from SANS and is a member of the prestigious GIAC Advisory Board. He is also a certified Scrum Master and Product Owner for Agile Development from Mountain Goat Software. Barry has 15 years of experience across all areas of the industry and is proficient in penetration testing methodologies as they pertain to Web Application & Network Analysis.

His career began in 2003 as an Oracle DB Admin, IT Department Manager and K-12 Computer Curriculum Development. In 2006 to 2008, he was a Sr. Software Engineer and Project Manager for various web application projects. Between 2008 and 2014, Cogan was a freelance developer, assisting development on a wide range of startups and private projects whilst navigating US Immigration. He joined the RiskSense Family in April 2014."
