CSA-CO Aug 2017 Meeting

Speaker - Clark Hobbie

Clark Hobbie has been developing software for over 20 years. This is his second foray into the world of open source (the first was a system called CIPC). He spent the last 5 years working on the predecessor to Miranda, a system called "SubPub" (internally, it was called Prospero).

Topic: The Miranda Open-Source System

Miranda helps make microservices be more reliable by saving HTTP POST/PUT/DELETE messages made to them to a distributed, fault-tolerant and secure manner to a cluster of systems. If the microservice is up, then the message is immediately handed off. If the microservice is down (due to a crash or a power outage), then Miranda saves the message until the microservice can process it.
