Getting Started with Kotlin Basics by Brandon Davis

Google is now officially supporting Kotlin as a language for Android Development, but learning a new language can be intimidating! At this months meeting, Brandon Davis will teach you Kotlin in an interactive way, from setting up a project, to basic syntax, to ways of writing "beautiful" Kotlin code.

This will be hands-on, so come prepared with your laptop. You'll need to have git installed as there might be a base project template to clone initially. Please also install IntelliJ (Community Edition is free) in advance by following the instructions here (https://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/).

If you have any problems getting setup, post in the comment section below and someone will chime in to help you.

While this month's Meetup is geared towards Kotlin newbies, as always, anyone is welcome. If you are an experienced Kotlin developer, you might find the material elementary, but feel free to join us and help out your fellow Droids. Also, we will have some door prizes, as well as pizza and drinks.
