This talk will cover the different ways of styling components in Android. I'll cover basic styling for beginners. I'll interweave more advanced topics like selectors/drawable states, attributes/TypedValues, gradients and "tint" & how it works. Finally, I'll cover tricks on how to search for attributes in Android system styles.

About Dustin Burckhardt

Dustin has been coding Java for nigh on 20 years and started doing Android about 6 years ago. He enjoys working with people who have passion, insight and the ability to challenge his understanding of technology. He loves simple solutions to complex problems, DRY code, reverse engineering protocols and a good beer.

About the Droids

Each 3rd Wednesday of the month, we meet at POSSIBLE Mobile downtown. From 5:30-6pm we will socialize and enjoy food and drinks. At 6pm we will typically have a speaker giving a presentation about an interesting and informative Android development topic. If you are a new or experienced Android developer, or just someone that is curious about Android development, we hope you will join us and become a regular participant!
