S.O.L.I.D. Principles :
What is object-oriented design? What is it all about? What are its benefits? What are its costs? It may seem silly to ask these questions in a day and age when virtually every software developer is using an object-oriented language of some kind. Yet the question is important because, it seems to me, that most of us use those languages without knowing why, and without knowing how to get the most benefit out of them. In this talk, I will discuss the SOLID principles, and how applying them can help you write clean code. Software engineering is hard, and I believe we should take advantage of any design principles that help us write better code.
HI! I'm Stefen. I'm a software engineer on the Comcast VIPER team. I've probably written software that you have used. I've been speaking for over 6 years and coding for twice that. I code, write, speak, and try to encourage better practices amongst software engineers.
In the art of software development, studying code isn't enough; you have to actively work to be better. I hope to improve the community by talking about good software practices with my peers.
About the Droids:

At 6 pm we will either have a presentation about a new/interesting Android topic, or we'll work on a group project. If you are a new or experienced Android developer or just someone that is curious about Android development, we hope you will join us and become a regular participant!
