Join us for our monthly DevOpsDC Meetup
• 6:30 - 7:00 - Meet, greet, and eat
• 7:00 - 7:15 - Introductions and Announcements
• 7:15 - 8:45 - Presentations, discussions, etc.
• Fearless Deployment - Ric Lister (@bnzmnzhnz (https://twitter.com/bnzmnzhnz)), First Data/Spree Commerce - We used to be a startup: moving fast, deploying hourly, being fearless. Then we were acquired. Here is how we adjusted and welcomed our new overlords, their need for stability, and their real-world data. Spoiler: we're still fearless.
• Everything is DevOps - Mark Cornick (@markcornick (https://twitter.com/markcornick)), Cava - Perhaps you’ve heard that DevOps is great, but you don’t work in a software organization, or even a technical enterprise. So you think DevOps isn’t for you or your team. Surprise! DevOps is not for unicorns only! The fact is that DevOps practices and philosophies are applicable to any kind of organization, and you might even be “doing the DevOps” now without even being aware of it. I’ll talk about how my experiences in the restaurant business and the soccer supporter community reflect DevOps values, and where you might be able to find the seeds of a DevOps movement in your life..
• 8:45 - 9:00 - Networking
We are always looking for speakers (https://github.com/devopsdc/devopsdc/blob/master/speakers.md), sponsors (https://www.meetup.com/DevOpsDC/pages/DevOps_DC_Meetup_Sponsorship_Opportunities/), and hosts (https://github.com/devopsdc/devopsdc/blob/master/hosts.md). Checkout the links or our GitHub repository (https://github.com/devopsdc/devopsdc) for additional details!
We value the participation of each member of the community and want all attendees to have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience. To make clear what is expected, all delegates/attendees, speakers, exhibitors, organizers, and volunteers at any DevOpsDC event are required to conform to our Code of Conduct (https://www.meetup.com/DevOpsDC/pages/Code_of_Conduct/).
