Lunch&&Learn: Trust me. I’m a professional!

Details

Join Devhub Toronto for their weekly series of Lunch&&Learns-- casual one-hour seminars with varying topics targeted at developers. Why not use your lunch break to learn something new?

Are software developers professionals? Of course! Right? Maybe? There is a strong sentiment in the tech community that programmers find themselves in a nebulous grey area when it comes to being professionals. So how did we get to be in this state? What does it mean to be a professional? How do you go about becoming one? Why does it even matter? And what might this mean for the future of programming? A talk filled with so many questions, so little time, and a guaranteed cameo by chocolate chip cookies.

This Lunch&&Learn is presented by Roux Banciu. Having made the jump from the Philosophy Department to the IT Department, Roux currently works as an iOS Developer for Symantec Corp fighting for internet privacy. He is equally passionate about code and his tools as he is about warm bread! Which, as we all know, is really really tasty! From jazz to cycling, tech to boardgames, physics to sketching, he’s got way too many hobbies, way too little time, and loves finding out about that cool thing you’re working on!
