Create 3D Models and Animations with Blender
Blender is an open-source software used for modeling, rigging, animation, simulation, rendering, compositing and motion tracking, video editing, and game creation. Using a tutorial by Neal Hirsig (https://www.blendernetwork.org/neal-hirsig), participants will be able to take a dive into the concepts of the creation of the 3D model of a shark, the terrain at the bottom of the ocean, as well as animate the movement of the shark’s body. At the end of this session, participants will be able to successfully render a shark swimming in the ocean. Please download the Blender software from here prior to your arrival: https://www.blender.org/.
About Kaitlyn Hornbuckle
3D Animation Club was founded by Kaitlyn Hornbuckle, a Junior, at Horizon High School in Thornton, Colorado, in September 2017. The team’s primary goal is to educate all members on a large variety of concepts, including modeling, rigging, animation, rendering, etc., in order to build animations based on their own storylines. Kaitlyn Hornbuckle began creating animations last year and is still learning tricks on improving rendered assets. She believes that in the land of 3D Animation, everybody will always be learning something new!
